Helicopter Supports Construction at Sutherland Spaceport

With the help of PDG Aviation Services and one of their fleet of helicopters, we recently started creating the abutments for our watercourse crossing bridges at Sutherland spaceport that will form part of our floating road.

These crossings will help maintain the natural state of the water environment, protecting the bed and banks, water levels and ecology of the watercourse.

PDG used a Eurocopter AS350 (Single Squirrel), and on the day completed 105 drops as part of the construction of the abutments. In addition to the pilot, ground crew were responsible for making sure loads were transported quickly and effectively allowing for a smooth process and a positive result.

Although he wasn’t there on the day we believe Tom Cruise also owns and flies a Single Squirrel!
