Timo Van Der Plas

Timo serves as Chief Programme Officer at Orbex and is a key member of the senior leadership team, overseeing all project and programme operations to ensure the successful delivery of strategic milestones. With more than 25 years of experience in the aerospace sector, he brings deep technical expertise and proven leadership across both commercial and institutional space missions.

Throughout his career, Timo has played pivotal roles in major European Space Agency and national programmes, including Galileo FOC, Meteosat Third Generation (MTG), SGEO, Copernicus, and HERA. Prior to joining Orbex, he held various technical and managerial positions at leading aerospace companies such as Fokker Space, Airbus, OHB, and RUAG.

Timo holds an MSc in Aerospace Engineering from Delft University of Technology (TUD), with a specialisation in Spacecraft Subsystems, Electric Propulsion, and Low-Thrust Orbital Mechanics.
